Junior Glass Technician ITA (Glazier) Apprenticeship

JOB DESCRIPTION

Van Isle Glass is looking for a responsible self motivated Junior Technician / Apprentice to join our team.

Our Ideal candidate is someone who is willing to learn and assist with our daily projects. Is able to adapt to change with good attention to detail. Basic mechanical skills an asset. All training will be provided on the job.

You would be an assistant / apprentice technician working with an ITA certified Journeyman You will be part of a close-knit team environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITY:

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Assist and learn from an ITA certified Journeyman.
• Windshield Installation.
• Automotive Glass Installation, Door, Side, Hatchback, Etc.…
• Rock Chip Repair.
• Flat Glass cutting and preparation
• Residential & commercial glass installation
• Ensure that all equipment, and work areas are kept clean and organized.
• Provide customer service & support.
• Ensuring customer vehicles leave the shop tidy and clean.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Flat glass, auto glass, or automotive experience an asset
• Mechanically inclined.
• Able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience in the automotive industry is an asset.
• Team player.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Valid BC drivers license

COMPENSATION / BENEFITS:

The starting wage is $18 per hour and up to $29 per hour depending on existing certifications, qualifications, ability, and work experience.

On the job training will be provided. In addition, we are willing to guide a responsible motivated employee through the apprenticeship and certification process.

We will cover the costs at each step in the process.

The Salary will increase as you gain experience and certifications.

Bonuses will be provided for sales, outstanding customer services and Teamwork.
